Location

Laganas is the most cosmopolitan and developed area of Zakynthos, located in the Gulf bearing the same name, in the south of the island. It is one of the first areas that welcomed organized tourism. It is ideal for those looking for nightlife, as there are many bars and clubs in the area.
The 9km beach of Laganas is one of the largest in Greece.

This is the beach chosen by the Caretta-Caretta turtles to be one of their refuges. For their protection, the gulf of Laganas as well as the adjacent areas, have been declared a National Sea Park. Ever since that time, the constructions have been limited and all yachts and boats have been forbidden.

Small boats are available, that will take you on a ride in the gulf of Laganas and you will be able to see the turtles from up close. Boats that take you scuba diving also leave from the bay of Laganas.

Laganas is located at the south west edge of the island, is the biggest tourist resort and is a magnet for young people and families looking for fun.
